Dr. Satwah Speaks On The Benefits of Endovascular Intervention
Dr. Vinay Satwah of the Center for Vascular Medicine recently spoke with Dr. Alvin for a radio broadcast discussing the benefits of endovascular intervention procedures in diagnosing and treating the underlying causes of pelvic pain and leg pain.
During the interview, Dr. Satwah gives an overview of several conditions routinely treated at the Center for Vascular Medicine, providing layman's descriptions of the typical symptoms and what is occurring internally to cause them.
Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS) can be a frustrating health issue for many, often misdiagnosed or dismissed as a psychological issue and treated inappropriately. Patients may be experiencing painful intercourse, leg pain and swelling or pain and discomfort in the pelvic region. The physicians and staff of the Center for Vascular Medicine use minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and then treat if necessary.
May-Thurner Syndrome (MTS) is another type of vascular disease affecting mainly women that can have symptoms ranging from leg pain to varicose veins, predominantly occurring on the left side. MTS is the result of internal compression of iliac veins that can leave patients at risk for deep vein thrombosis when untreated.
Dr. Satwah and his colleagues seek to offer patients the means to restoring both their health and their quality of life with cutting edge treatments in a comfortable, outpatient setting. Suffering from the effects of vascular disease outside of the heart can be debilitating and pose greater risks of losing a limb or having a stroke.
